Evolution at the LA Auto Show

Last month, our CEO and co-founder Mitch Lee appeared at the Los Angeles Auto Show on a panel about the “future of air and sea.” In a lineup of innovators, Mitch broke down how Arc is building on automotive advances to scale electrification beyond the road.

“Electric boats make even more sense than electric cars,” Mitch told the crowd. “Thanks to all the R&D flowing into the automotive industry, we’ve been able to tap into those supply chains and very rapidly bring that technology to the marine industry.”

The conversation covered all the advantages of electric boats like the Arc Sport: whisper-quiet powertrains that never drown conversation, hassle-free ownership without fumes or maintenance headaches, and savings on fuel and upkeep. Mitch also detailed how applications are expanding rapidly, like electric tugboats for the world’s busiest ports.

“What we’re doing is taking that automotive tech and scaling it up the power curve,” Mitch explained. “Commercial applications make even more sense. We’re now electrifying harbor workboats that have thousands of horsepower and operate at a much bigger scale than things you’d see in automotive.”

The panel took place at AutoMobility LA, a showcase devoted to the forces reshaping how we move, from zero-emission fleets to next-gen AI. Mitch was joined by Pivotal CEO Ken Karklin, whose company makes electric vertical take-off aircraft. We were surrounded by transportation history in the making.

“Our goal has always been to electrify everything that floats, and the industry’s paying attention,” Mitch said after the show. “It’s an honor to share Arc’s work in the company of other leaders. The energy here in our backyard is inspiring.”
